On Snow Experience

With your Ski Club Rep and fellow members, you will being by spending 5 days skiing the resorts of Banff: Norquay, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise. You’ll then spend 3 days skiing in Fernie. This holiday is aimed at Intermediate (Silver) to Advanced (Purple) off piste skiers. If you are unsure of your ski level, please see our Ski Profile Page. At the end of the week, you will receive an updated grading from your Ski Club Rep.

One thing to be aware of on this holiday is how the off piste policy differs to Europe. Resorts will have an outer boundary, rather than on piste and off piste areas, with everything that sits inside this counted as patrolled and managed terrain. This allows you the freedom to ski any line that takes your fancy, without having to worry about snow conditions. You will remain ‘in-bounds’ for the duration of the trip.

I love to ski so that's good then. Looking forward to getting back on the snow and feeling European again!! Being a Rep to me means visiting great resorts, getting to know ski mad members and showing them a good time on the slopes. I like bumps, I like steeps and I love powder. Whether cruising blues or descending reds, there is nothing I like more than the happy look on members faces after a good day on the snow. Seems I have only managed 4 stars which is not bad but want to go for the 5 star approval this year ;-)! Always good to have a goal. I am looking forward to meeting ski friends old and new!

  • Sunshine Village sits around 20 minutes outside of the resort town of Banff.

The slopes offer something for everyone – from the steeps of Delirium Dive and Goat’s Eye Mountain, to the gentle greens of Mt Standish and the high-altitude cruising of Lookout Mtn, the variety is impressive. Along with Lake Louise and Mt Norquay it forms part of the “Ski Big 3”, all of which are covered by the same lift pass and are linked by a bus service – although having a car will certainly help

It is a condition of booking that you have valid and adequate snowsports insurance. It is your responsibility to ensure your policy provides cover for all the activities that you participate in during your holiday. We offer a Ski Club Insurance policy which provides the cover we require for all bookings. This policy can be found here: Ski Club Travel Insurance – Ski Club Of Great Britain

If you decide to purchase insurance elsewhere, it is your responsibility to ensure that your policy provides cover as that of the Ski Club Insurance policy. The policy of insurance should provide cover for personal injury, death, medical and repatriation costs in the countries which you intend to visit, together with cover for loss of baggage and valuables, personal liability, delay, cancellation, curtailment, missed departure and legal expenses. The policy should also include cover against losses caused by the effects or consequences of Covid-19.

Due to the type of holidays that you will be booking with us, we also advise that your policy should include skiing off-piste without a guide. Please note, insurance premiums must be paid at the same time as booking in order for the package holiday or single service cancellation cover to be effective. It is also advised to keep your insurance details with you while you are on your holiday. If you choose to travel without adequate insurance cover, we will not be liable for any losses howsoever arising, in respect of which insurance cover would otherwise have been available.
