I love to meet up with Ski Club members for a day on the slopes, preferably followed by a beer. An early 'career' in athletics (the days of Coe and Ovett!) ensured I was a late starter on the slopes at 42. I've since spent most winter hols on skis and, now retired, I'm determined to ski even more. The Geographer in me means I particularly enjoy making journeys through the landscape; ideal for all 3 of my Repping slots this year. Please try and pre-register if you are coming to ski with me in resort so I know to look out for you in the social hour or on the piste!

I love being in the mountains, skiing with like minded ski club members is great fun, whether it be a hard day in powder, cruising the pistes, enjoying aprés or a leisurely lunch in the sun shine I love it all!

I started skiing late in life and am now making up for lost time, skiing 6 to 8 weeks a year. I am also a keen swimmer, President of Oxted and Limpsfield Cricket Club and member of Tandridge Golf Club.

  • The four mountains provide a 123km network of well-prepared, linked pistes, served by a modern and fast fleet of lifts.

Most of the terrain is suited to intermediates, but there are some challenges for more advanced skiers and riders, as well as some decent beginner facilities – particularly at Rohrmoos.
Schladming itself has an attractive, car-free town centre and it certainly can get lively, especially at the end of the ski day.

Where world-class slopes meet the charm of Austrian Alpine tradition, Schladming promises an unforgettable skiing experience in a picturesque mountain setting.

    Pros and cons

    • Four different, linked mountains to explore
    • Lively resort, especially as the lifts close
    • Very quick and easy transfer from Salzburg
    • Low altitude so snow quality can suffer
    • Limited challenges for experts
    • Some sectors can get busy and queues can be an issue

    Sporthotel Royer

Our base for the week is the comfortable 4* Sporthotel Royer, where you’ll stay on a half board basis in twin share accommodation. The hotel lies only a 10 minute walk from the lifts as well as Schladming’s town centre. If you are a solo traveller, then you will be placed in a room with someone of the same gender. Single rooms may be available upon request. These are subject to our hotel room allowance. If you require a single room, please book early to avoid disappointment.

It is a condition of booking that you have valid and adequate snowsports insurance. It is your responsibility to ensure your policy provides cover for all the activities that you participate in during your holiday.

We offer a Ski Club Insurance policy which provides the cover we require for all bookings. This policy can be found here: Ski Club Travel Insurance – Ski Club Of Great Britain

If you decide to purchase insurance elsewhere, it is your responsibility to ensure that your policy provides cover as that of the Ski Club Insurance policy. The policy of insurance should provide cover for personal injury, death, medical and repatriation costs in the countries which you intend to visit, together with cover for loss of baggage and valuables, personal liability, delay, cancellation, curtailment, missed departure and legal expenses. The policy should also include cover against losses caused by the effects or consequences of Covid-19.

Due to the type of holidays that you will be booking with us, we also advise that your policy should include skiing off-piste without a guide. Please note, insurance premiums must be paid at the same time as booking in order for the package holiday or single service cancellation cover to be effective. It is also advised to keep your insurance details with you while you are on your holiday. If you choose to travel without adequate insurance cover, we will not be liable for any losses howsoever arising, in respect of which insurance cover would otherwise have been available.
