Alex Chapman Les Deux Alpes

Alex Chapman

I became a ski instructor and coach due to my passion for sport, snowsports in particular and most importantly my love of teaching and coaching. I am BASI level 4 qualified with full French equivalence and have loved every moment of this wonderful job for the last 15 years, more recently teaching and coaching both summer and winter.

I have experience of coaching and teaching all over the world, Northern and Southern Hemisphere. Les Deux Alpes is my resort of choice and home now. I have extensive knowledge of the terrain and surrounding areas and believe that Les Deux Alpes offers fantastic skiing for everyone. The beginners slopes in resort are perfect for learning, the ability to ski from 3600M to 1650M on a blue run is fantastic and the lift accessed off piste is second to non. I very much look forward to working on your skiing and sharing my paradise with you!

Please call me Bob.

I was 45 when I first strapped a pair of planks to my feet but I was totally hooked from that first moment (in Les Deux Alpes) and (until Covid) there's never been a winter, since, without at least one ski trip. I've skied in France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Canada and, since 2008, I've been a Ski Club Rep, Leader, Ambassador and Rep again. I've skied with hundreds of Ski Club Members in the intervening years representing the Club in France, Italy, Switzerland and Canada.

I have always been passionate about the outdoors and try to take every opportunity to get out in the mountains. I am a keen skier and mountaineer. My ambition is to spend as much time as possible enjoying skiing.. I put lots of energy and enthusiasm into snow sports and get lots of fun out of it. Hopefully I can help other like minded people do the same.

    Rep Review – January 2024

    Duncan Spink, July 1, 2024

Irrespective of ability level, everyone will come away from this trip with their on and off piste skiing improved. Alex Champan is a skilful and entertaining instructor who is able to find the fun in any and all skiing drills. She also finds some great lunch venues!

Les 2 Alpes has kilometres of pistes which are all kept in excellent condition, with new, fast lifts take you up to the top of the glacier at 3400m. There is plenty of off piste potential, and, if conditions and ability levels permit, day trips to Alpe d’Huez or La Grave are possible. In the town, there are loads of bars to enjoy an après drink or two but none are too noisy or boisterous.
