After learning to ski in Australia aged 8, I have been a passionate skier since. It is with great fortune that i have skied in Australia, Europe and America, giving me the opportunity to enjoy many different types of skiing. Now, as Ski Club Rep, I love the variety of skiing and skiers. It is wonderful to ski indifferent reports, on different terrains with all types of skiers. All with one commonality - a real passion for the sport.

When I'm not on skis, I work, managing large teams through transformational change, and have two teenagers to keep my busy!

  • Because of its location in the middle of the three valleys that make up the 132km Monterosa piste network, this is a great place to base yourself.

From the edge of town, the chairlift to Punta Jolanda or a bus gets you to Stafal and the main link between neighbouring Champoluc to the west and Alagna to the east. There is lots of great on piste cruising on offer, but the real attraction is the lift served off piste – which has to be some of the best in Italy.

    Pros and cons

    • Access to incredible off piste terrain
    • Great intermediate and upwards cruising on red slopes
    • At the heart of the Monterosa ski area and its 132km of linked slopes
    • Upper mountain can close and be bleak in bad weather
    • Tough mountain for beginners or early intermediates
    • Village is relatively quiet at après and in the evening

    Hotel Dufour

Your base for the week is the welcoming Hotel Dufour where you’ll stay on a half board basis in twin share accommodation. The hotel is well located close to the lift and slopes with a wellness centre to relax in after a hard day on the slopes and you will no doubt enjoy some excellent Italian hospitality in there bar and restaurant. This holiday is on a twin share basis. If you are a solo traveller, then you will be placed in a room with someone of the same gender. Single rooms may be available upon request. These are subject to our hotel room allowance. If you require a single room, please book early to avoid disappointment.

It is a condition of booking that you have valid and adequate snowsports insurance. It is your responsibility to ensure your policy provides cover for all the activities that you participate in during your holiday.

We offer a Ski Club Insurance policy which provides the cover we require for all bookings. This policy can be found here: Ski Club Travel Insurance – Ski Club Of Great Britain

If you decide to purchase insurance elsewhere, it is your responsibility to ensure that your policy provides cover as that of the Ski Club Insurance policy. The policy of insurance should provide cover for personal injury, death, medical and repatriation costs in the countries which you intend to visit, together with cover for loss of baggage and valuables, personal liability, delay, cancellation, curtailment, missed departure and legal expenses. The policy should also include cover against losses caused by the effects or consequences of Covid-19.

Due to the type of holidays that you will be booking with us, we also advise that your policy should include skiing off-piste without a guide. Please note, insurance premiums must be paid at the same time as booking in order for the package holiday or single service cancellation cover to be effective. It is also advised to keep your insurance details with you while you are on your holiday. If you choose to travel without adequate insurance cover, we will not be liable for any losses howsoever arising, in respect of which insurance cover would otherwise have been available.
