On Snow Experience

The real pull of Grimentz is the off piste, and with access to Zinal via the Sorebois cable-car, you will have the option to explore even more of this extensive back country terrain. This trip consists of six full days skiing off piste with a mountain guide. Groups will be divided based on ski profile. This trip is aimed at Advanced (Purple) and Expert (Gold) off piste skiers. If you are unsure of your level please see our Ski Profile Page. At the end of the week you will receive an updated grading from your guide or Ski Club Rep.

When participating in a Purple/Gold off piste holiday you should be prepared to do some ski touring at some point during the trip. Where possible the lift system will be used to access off piste terrain, however if you need to venture further afield in order to access the best off piste conditions, then your guide may suggest ski touring. This will all be dependent upon conditions and the guides you have on your trip.

Born and raised in Sion in the middle of the alps, the Val d’Anniviers is my favourite playground.

Climbing, skiing or hiking, I will be more than happy to guide you safely in our beautiful mountains.

In my twenties I blagged a trip to my schoolfriend's Regimental ski lodge in Bavaria. Being taught to ski by a bunch of NCOs was a bit brutal but was so much fun and ever since I just can't keep away from the mountains. I love skiing everything - cruising the pistes, bashing the bumps, or finding the steepest and deepest off-piste - and in 2013 I became a Leader to share that passion. I have also learned to telemark (great for showing off) and I have even been seen on a snowboard! In 2015 I took the money and ran away from the laptop, gained some BASI qualifications and I now work as a part-time ski instructor for Disability Snowsport UK. Winter all year-round!!

I started skiing at the age of three. After stopping lessons at twelve and not really improving much for the next ten years, I then discovered the Ski Club.
Beginning with skiing with Reps in resort, I moved on to Freshtracks holidays with a few sessions of ILG too - each of which took my skiing to another level. I became a Rep in 2021, and I'm looking forward to sharing my passion for the mountains with other Ski Club members - and having some fun too :)

  • Since the Sorebois cable car was built in 2013 to link it neighbouring Zinal, Grimentz has slipped firmly on to the radar of British skiers and snowboarders.

Many are rightfully drawn to the resort by the cute villages and the peace and quiet, but an increasing number are coming here for the vast off piste and freeriding potential of the resort. After fresh snowfall, the options are almost limitless, both within the confines of the lift system and beyond – where there are some exceptional touring options.

    Pros and cons

    • Loads of tough on and off piste terrain
    • Great access to some fantastic touring terrain
    • Cute village with traditional chalet-style buildings
    • Little on offer for beginners and intermediates
    • South facing slopes can become slushy
    • Antiquated lift system – still a lot of t-bars

It is a condition of booking that you have valid and adequate snowsports insurance. It is your responsibility to ensure your policy provides cover for all the activities that you participate in during your holiday.
We offer a Ski Club Insurance policy which provides the cover we require for all bookings. This policy can be found here: Ski Club Travel Insurance – Ski Club Of Great Britain
If you decide to purchase insurance elsewhere, it is your responsibility to ensure that your policy provides cover as that of the Ski Club Insurance policy. The policy of insurance should provide cover for personal injury, death, medical and repatriation costs in the countries which you intend to visit, together with cover for loss of baggage and valuables, personal liability, delay, cancellation, curtailment, missed departure and legal expenses. The policy should also include cover against losses caused by the effects or consequences of Covid-19.
Due to the type of holidays that you will be booking with us, we also advise that your policy should include skiing off-piste without a guide. Please note, insurance premiums must be paid at the same time as booking in order for the package holiday or single service cancellation cover to be effective. It is also advised to keep your insurance details with you while you are on your holiday. If you choose to travel without adequate insurance cover, we will not be liable for any losses howsoever arising, in respect of which insurance cover would otherwise have been available.
