Carefully crafted by tdc expeditions, this holiday has been designed to give guests a unique and unforgettable experience of backcountry skiing in North Macedonia. The first two days of the trip are scheduled over the weekend to take advantage of the big chairlift, which only operates on weekends. This gives the group the opportunity to warm up, acclimate to the conditions, and enjoy the beautiful views. Thereafter, you will have private use of the cat for the remainder of the week. A modified piste basher with a cabin for about 12 people, the cat takes you up and away to untracked terrain for as many runs as your legs can manage! You will also have the option to use the cat in the morning and then spend the day ski touring with cat assistance. This can be discussed as a group.
We are ATOL and ABTOT protected so you can book with confidence knowing your money is secure.
Our holidays are a great way to meet and ski with other members of a similar ability to you.

TDC recommend a normal length off piste ski around 100-110mm underfoot. The snow could be wind-affected and crusty, or deep powder, so it’s important to have a ski with plenty of width and float. Bindings would be best if a touring mode is available. However, not touring is negotiable with the team, but Rich and Terry love the option to be there.
Boots need only be your standard off-piste boot, ideally with a walk mode in case we tour.
A backpack with space for all avalanche safety kit and a spare layer. Though we can leave food, water and extra layers inside the cat. Luxury! Airbags, as always are not necessary, however, given the weight and space situation, if you want to bring your airbag, then do so. NB: they will be provided on the cat ski days.
If you need to hire skis this is possible though the selection is limited and they must be reserved in advance. Boots you must bring with you. Please let us know if you do need to hire and TDC will help us organise this for you.
All other kit must be brought with you as there are no ski shops in resort.
There will not be a Ski Club Rep on this trip, TDC will take care of everything!
It is a condition of booking that you have valid and adequate snowsports insurance. It is your responsibility to ensure your policy provides cover for all the activities that you participate in during your holiday. We offer a Ski Club Insurance policy which provides the cover we require for all bookings. This policy can be found here: Ski Club Travel Insurance – Ski Club Of Great Britain
If you decide to purchase insurance elsewhere, it is your responsibility to ensure that your policy provides cover as that of the Ski Club Insurance policy. The policy of insurance should provide cover for personal injury, death, medical and repatriation costs in the countries which you intend to visit, together with cover for loss of baggage and valuables, personal liability, delay, cancellation, curtailment, missed departure and legal expenses. The policy should also include cover against losses caused by the effects or consequences of Covid-19.
Due to the type of holidays that you will be booking with us, we also advise that your policy should include skiing off-piste without a guide. Please note, insurance premiums must be paid at the same time as booking in order for the package holiday or single service cancellation cover to be effective. It is also advised to keep your insurance details with you while you are on your holiday. If you choose to travel without adequate insurance cover, we will not be liable for any losses howsoever arising, in respect of which insurance cover would otherwise have been available.
Passport – Check your passport is in date and valid for travel by checking the entry requirements for your destination country – you can see these here: Foreign travel advice – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
When venturing off piste, it is compulsory to wear an avalanche transceiver. These can be provided by the Ski Club and should be worn by every person on every all mountain, off piste and touring holiday.
