I love skiing and love the mountains and outdoors generally. I am originally from Fort William in the Highlands which is probably where the passion developed. I now live in Windsor as well as during the winter spending a lot of time in the Alps - mainly in Villars-sur-Ollons as well as trips to other resorts. I've been a member of the Ski Club since the early noughties and helped out on Council in 2019 and as the interim General Manager in 2020. In 2018 I did the Leaders Course which was a great thing to do and I have enjoyed being a Rep since. I've found over the years that I enjoy helping others to make the most of their ski day, hope to meet you over a beer or on the slopes this season!

Ski Connections Serre Chevalier

Ski Connections

The Ski Connections journey started in the autumn of 2007 with a bunch of experienced Serre Chevalier instructors. The team is a great mix of French and British (BASI) qualified ski and snowboard instructors who are privileged to be certified by the French Ministry for Sport. Professional, highly skilled and passionate about skiing and snowboarding, the instructors are here to help you get the most out of your skiing in the most enjoyable way possible.

I became a Ski Club rep in Dec 2023 having started skiing in 1983, enjoying Freshtracks holidays and learning to ski off-piste with Yann and Diane in Flaine. I am passionate about being in the mountains and have skied many resorts in France, Austria, Italy and Bulgaria. To heli ski in North America is still on my bucket list. When I am not skiing you will find me mountain biking, walking and playing on the sea.

I am excited about the season ahead and meeting and skiing with fellow members!

I fell in love with skiing on a school ski trip as a teenager. Since then I have managed 1 or 2 weeks on snow most seasons. Having recently completed the Reps Course I’m excited to get the opportunity to spend more time in the mountains, hopefully phasing in more skiing with less time in my day job. Outside of skiing I enjoy windsurfing, sailing, hiking and mountain biking. I enjoy travelling, particularly exploring Europe in our camper van.

It is a condition of booking that you have valid and adequate snowsports insurance. It is your responsibility to ensure your policy provides cover for all the activities that you participate in during your holiday.

We offer a Ski Club Insurance policy which provides the cover we require for all bookings. This policy can be found here: Ski Club Travel Insurance – Ski Club Of Great Britain

If you decide to purchase insurance elsewhere, it is your responsibility to ensure that your policy provides cover as that of the Ski Club Insurance policy. The policy of insurance should provide cover for personal injury, death, medical and repatriation costs in the countries which you intend to visit, together with cover for loss of baggage and valuables, personal liability, delay, cancellation, curtailment, missed departure and legal expenses. The policy should also include cover against losses caused by the effects or consequences of Covid-19.

Due to the type of holidays that you will be booking with us, we also advise that your policy should include skiing off-piste without a guide. Please note, insurance premiums must be paid at the same time as booking in order for the package holiday or single service cancellation cover to be effective. It is also advised to keep your insurance details with you while you are on your holiday. If you choose to travel without adequate insurance cover, we will not be liable for any losses howsoever arising, in respect of which insurance cover would otherwise have been available.

    • have an ‘expiry date’ at least 3 months after the date you plan to leave the Schengen area

Check your passport meets these requirements before you travel.

NB: Starting in 2025 (Date TBC) travel authorisation will be required to travel withing Europe – find out more here ETIAS (europa.eu)

    Rep Review – February 2024

    Angus Maciver, July 8, 2024

Last year was my first time skiing in Serre Chevalier and I’m hoping to go out again this year! It really surprised me as although the base is at the lower end, it is mostly north facing and has lots of off-piste options – some steep though not too deep when I was there. The Instructors from Ski Connections were just super fun and found things every day to develop and challenge, including a fun trip up to La Grave which was definitely worth doing. If you want a variety of terrain, great instruction, a fun time and a bit of challenge it’s for you!
