Located in Spain’s highest mountain range, Sierra Nervada is an on piste skier’s paradise. Thanks to its high elevation of 2,100 meters, with lifts reaching over 3,000 meters, the resort is known for its good snow conditions and perfectly groomed pistes. On this holiday you’ll spend four days skiing with fellow Freshtrackers and your Ski Club Rep, split into groups of 8/9 based on your ski profile. On our social skiing holidays, your Rep will ski with the groups as a member sharing their knowledge of the area from the quietest pistes, best runs and tastiest lunch spots! This holiday is aimed at Red and Silver on piste skiers.

I stumbled upon skiing unexpectedly on a business trip at the age of 40. Ever since that fateful day, skiing has been my passion, some would say obsession and I've been trying in vain to make up for some of those lost years. Over the last fifteen or so years I've skied in many of the larger European resorts, some hidden gems and visited the amazing Whistler several times. I have been fortunate enough to ski for multiple weeks in each of the last few winters improving my experience, knowledge and refining my skills. In December 2022 I graduated from the Ski Club of Great Britain Rep's Course in Tignes and my first Resort Rep slot later the same season in Soldeu.

I am eagerly looking forward to further Rep opportunities this winter, skiing with fellow Ski Club GB members and sharing my love and enthusiasm for skiing!

  • It may be initially unusual to fly into southern Spain for your ski holiday, but after landing in Malaga, the snow capped peaks are pretty clear.

The Sierra Nevada resort is then nestled on the north facing slopes of Spain’s third highest mountain, with the top lifts reaching a lofty altitude of 3282m. This combination, plus an extensive snowmaking system boasting 350 snow machines in its arsenal, ensures reliable snow conditions throughout the winter. But as this is southern Spain, you’re also likely to get a lot of sunny days, which is great news as all of the slopes are located well above the treeline.

    Pros and cons

    • Fantastic views across to the Mediterranean
    • Over 100km of well prepared and snowsure pistes, despite the southerly location
    • Unique ability to tie in a visit to Granada and the Andalucían beaches to your ski holiday
    • All above the treeline so can suffer in bad weather
    • Away from the terrain parks little for experts
    • Weekend queues can form for the key lifts

It is a condition of booking that you have valid and adequate snowsports insurance. It is your responsibility to ensure your policy provides cover for all the activities that you participate in during your holiday.
We offer a Ski Club Insurance policy which provides the cover we require for all bookings. This policy can be found here: Ski Club Travel Insurance – Ski Club Of Great Britain
If you decide to purchase insurance elsewhere, it is your responsibility to ensure that your policy provides cover as that of the Ski Club Insurance policy. The policy of insurance should provide cover for personal injury, death, medical and repatriation costs in the countries which you intend to visit, together with cover for loss of baggage and valuables, personal liability, delay, cancellation, curtailment, missed departure and legal expenses. The policy should also include cover against losses caused by the effects or consequences of Covid-19.
Due to the type of holidays that you will be booking with us, we also advise that your policy should include skiing off-piste without a guide. Please note, insurance premiums must be paid at the same time as booking in order for the package holiday or single service cancellation cover to be effective. It is also advised to keep your insurance details with you while you are on your holiday. If you choose to travel without adequate insurance cover, we will not be liable for any losses howsoever arising, in respect of which insurance cover would otherwise have been available.

Check your passport meets these requirements before you travel.

NB: Starting in 2025 (Date TBC) travel authorisation will be required to travel withing Europe – find out more here ETIAS (europa.eu)
