Dan Charlish, founder of the charity Snow Camp, has been awarded the Ski Club of Great Britain’s highest accolade, the Pery Medal.
In a ceremony held at the London Snow Show on Saturday October 19, 2024, Chairman of the Ski Club, Angus Maciver alongside Winter Olympic snowboard medallist and Pery Medal winner, Jenny Jones, presented an unsuspecting Charlish with the award, first handed to Sir Arnold Lunn in 1930 in recognition of his achievements in the world of alpine skiing and ski racing.
The Ski Club of Great Britain has launched three new destinations in the Alps where its reps will be based throughout the winter season.
The resorts are Alpe d’Huez, Morzine and Serre Chevalier, all are in the French Alps and are popular with the Club’s members and the wider British ski and snowboarding community. There’s now a total of 29 resorts where Ski Club reps are based during the winter season, showing a real return to pre-Covid numbers.
The Ski Club of Great Britain has launched a new membership tier for anyone under the age of 35 that provides all the benefits of the club for less than half the normal cost.

The Ski Club of Great Britain has launched its new Freshtracks programme with 21 new holidays (over 160 in total) that start in late November 2024 and run through to early May 2025. There’s a new end of season Tignes Takeover week based in the 3* Aiguille Percee in Tignes Le Lac where up to 100 Ski Club members will have exclusive use of the hotel for a week.
There are several development weeks in the Alps for skiers from early intermediate level up to off-piste experts and ski tourers, but for adventure further afield then new trips to North Macedonia, British Columbia and Japan have also been launched.
