Although there's no skiing directly from the town, within 10km there are several small ski areas worth exploring for a day.
This makes it a good base for your trip. The biggest ski area is the recently revamped (all the lifts are new and high speed) Jenner ski area to the south, which also boasts the most reliable snow and the highest altitude. The smaller areas then make up the other 50km of slopes in and around the town.
The town is located a stone’s throw from Salzburg, making access as easy as it comes. This makes it a great weekend destination, or a good option if you know the snow’s good. Plus there’s lots of accommodation to choose from and with Salzburg so close, tie in your trip with a visit to the historic and beautiful city.
