Champoluc

A member of Ski Club in the 1984 and I did the Leaders course in 1998. I love extending peoples skiing so they make the most of the mountain and their vacation. Both on / off piste and in bars. I have enjoyed repping in Austria, Canada, France, Italy, Switzerland. In particular Wengen, Davos, Sass Fee, Zell am Zee, Mayrhofen, Les Arcs, Sun Peaks Resort, Alpe d'Huez, Tignes, Cervina, Champoluc. The only racing I do is in the Murren Inferno between 9km and 15km. I now cycle about 30- 75 miles at the weekend to keep my legs fit for skiing. Being out doors is fantastic. My goals are to cycle the Cheshire ring (the hard bit is avoiding the pubs) and Trans Pennine Trail. In the Mountains I am planning to walk / climb the East ridge of the Eiger in Wengen in the summer. Also A circular hut to hut tour in Sexten Dolomites, Italy most spectacular scenery. Any 3- 7 day ski touring trips I can fit in the Spring.

I have been lucky enough to have been skiing from a very early age, coming from good Austrian/Cornish stock; I spent my early winter years on the mountains surrounding Innsbruck learning and perfecting my falling with style technique. Since then I have had a couple of years racing, and qualified as an instructor, while serving in the army. Squeezed in 5 seasons working as an instructor/guide in Kitzbuhel , perfected the game of nails and acquired a taste for schnapps. My passion for skiing and the mountains has never diminished. As a Rep I look forward to sharing this passion and enthusiasm with others who feel the same...

As a semi-retired IT professional I now have plenty of time for skiing in my favourite areas close to my home in Verona Italy. The magical Dolomiti region is within 2.5 hours drive, and other world-class skiing areas such as the 3 valleys, Espace Killy and Ski Amadè are all reachable within an easy drive. Having experienced the addictive adrenalin buzz of competitive motor racing, my love for speed and exhilaration is kept alive by the thrill of skiing, both on and off-piste.

When not on the ski slopes, I keep fit with daily 10,000 steps+ mountain walks with my best friend Bruno the Briard (a shaggy French herding breed) plus regular swimming and gym sessions. I'm an avid reader and music fan and also produce my own music and EDM mixes in my computer-equipped studio. Basically, 24 hours per day is nowhere near enough to fulfil my various passions and love of life's opportunities!

I have been an avid skier since becoming hooked as a teenager, and spend as much time as possible in the mountains with my family. I became a rep in 2018 and am loving winter adventures with the club.

To date I have repped in Alagna, Kitzbuhel, Whistler and Baqueira. This winter I’m ‘stoked’ as they say in Canada to be representing the club on the inaugural Canadian Safari bucket list trip, as well as resort repping in Champoluc, Monte Rosa.

Away from the mountains I enjoy trail running, sailing and strumming my old guitar.
