The slopes may be low (topping out at 1488m) and snow reliability might not be the same as in the Alps,
but recent investment in lifts, snowmaking and slopes facilities has really improved the skiing at Feldberg.
There’s decent variety in the 26km of slopes, which includes good learning areas and several blacks, plus lots of magic carpets and learning lifts at the base of the hill.
There’s decent accommodation at the base of the hill, mostly in small hotels and holiday apartments, plus there’s some good value youth hostels for the budget conscious. Off the slopes there’s a lot to do, especially if you’re a fan of hiking and cross country skiing, as the local hills and forests have a great network of prepared and groomed trails.

After a spike in temperatures on Friday, things cool across the German Alps and some good late season snowfall follows in due course; around 20cm will fall across higher elevations, however as the freezing line drops steadily over this weekend.
Fine, dry and bright conditions return as the new week continues, with the freezing line once again climbing during the midday sun.
