Of the three Norwegian summer ski areas, Fonna has the most reliable snow and as a result it attracts the world's best racers and freestylers here in big numbers.
ย It’s likely that you’ll share the T-bar with one of Norway’s best racers if you ski here. There’s only one lift, but it serves some great summer terrain and the snow tends to stay in better condition than on the glaciers of the Alps.
Summer 2020 kicked off with a new base building, significantly improving the on-hill facilities and taking Fonna to new levels. Stay down on the fjord in Jondal, accessed via a short ferry hop, which is a summer sports hub โ after skiing make the most of the long Norwegian summer days by kayaking, mountain biking, hiking or swimming. There’s also glacier hikes and ski touring on offer on the glacier itself.

Southern areas of Scandinavia remain mild and sunny, with positive temperatures in play across the region. Across the central mountains things turn colder and snowier as the new week begins, with rain turning to around 5cm of snow across Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Further north, Finnish Lapland remains cool and wintery, with cloud cover keeping the sun out and allowing temperatures to remain below freezing for all of this forecast period. Generally, conditions remain dry however. On the Atlantic coast, the region’s good run of form continues, with steady snowfall continuing throughout this period and temperatures remaining cool.
