The Ski Club is pleased to work with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) as part of their Travel Aware and Support for British Nationals Abroad programme. These programmes are designed to support you, to ensure you plan your trip appropriately and know how and when the FCDO can support you in times of crisis whilst abroad.

UK Government Travel Advice

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) provides advice to help you plan and prepare for your holiday, as part of their Travel Aware Scheme. This can include advice on:

  • Making sure your passport is in date and suitable for your travels
  • Ensuring you have appropriate travel insurance for all the activities you plan on undertaking on a holiday
  • Checking FCDO Travel Advice to ensure you remain safe whilst abroad

Check the UK Government’s advice for planning and travelling abroad here, to ensure you are fully prepared for your holiday. Travel advice can change quickly, so we recommend checking it regularly when planning and just before travelling.

The FCDO offers support for British Nationals abroad in times of crisis.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) can help in times of crisis abroad. They can assist in ensuring you receive appropriate help and assistance if:

  • You have had your passport lost or stolen whilst abroad
  • You have been the victim of crime, including sexual or domestic assault
  • You have been arrested or charged with a crime
  • You are severely injured or a British national has died overseas

There is a wide range of support available, but it is important to understand when and where this can be offered. Head to the link below for more information.
