Most of the slopes suit intermediate skiers upwards, with some great off piste accessible from the lift system and the world-renowned Corvatsch terrain park. There’s also Switzerland’s longest night skiing slope to try out.
Away from the hustle, bustle and luxury of St Moritz, Sils Maria is a quieter and cheaper alternative base from which to explore the Engadine. There’s lots to do off the slopes and once the nearby lakes freeze, these become big playgrounds for ice skating, cross country skiing and a whole manner of other winter activities – and of course there’s the Cresta Run a little further up the valley in St Moritz.
Resort website: www.sils.ch
During your visit to Sils Maria, you will be staying in the Arenas Resort Schweizerhof. After a long day on the slopes, relax in your own single room or in the salt-water pool located in your hotel. You’ll be staying at the hotel on a half-board basis and will be entitled to a breakfast buffet each morning and a 4-course meal at night.
This holiday includes both your flights and transfer. The flights are with British Airways and depart from London Heathrow to Zurich airport. Ski Carriage is only payable at the airport and cannot be pre-booked.

Your Ski Club Rep will coordinate the coach transfer from Zurich airport, so please look out for them in the main arrivals hall. They will be wearing their Ski Club jacket. Transfers to and from resort will take approximately 2 and a half hours.
If these arrangements are not convenient, you can organise your own travel and may be eligible to receive a nominal discount from the holiday cost. Furthermore, if you can find alternative flights that coincide with our flight times, then you can meet the group at the airport and take our transfers to resort. Please do not book any alternative flights or travel until your holiday has been confirmed to run. Please contact the Freshtracks office on 020 8410 2022 in order to discuss this further.
Once the holiday has been confirmed, please send your flight details (flight numbers, arrival and departure time) to the Freshtracks Team via email to ku.oc.bulciks@sloh.
If you require equipment hire, we recommend the La Fainera Intersport Rental shop, which is located a short bus ride from your hotel. Your Ski Club Rep will assist anyone who requires ski hire in resort.
Lift Passes are not included in the cost of your holiday. They can be purchased for a discounted amount of £285 from the Ski Club.

Alastair Ross, July 3, 2024
Sils Maria is a glorious quiet village away from the crowds and traffic of its more famous neighbour St Moritz. It provides a great base to explore the three ski areas of the area, ranging from the nearby Corvatsch, Corviglia above St Moritz and the wonderful Diavolezza/Lagalb situated up on the Bernina pass heading to Italy. On these Discover St Moritz holidays we always aim to split our time between these areas, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the fantastic scenery of the Engadin valley and the excellent lunch stops!
