New Generation Les Arcs

New Generation – Les Arcs

We started New Generation in 1998 because we believed skiing and snowboarding could be taught in a better way.

A way that shares our passion for snow sports and the mountains. A way that welcomes everyone to the slopes, whether you're a seasoned pro or stepping into your skis for the first time.

Over 25 years, our team has grown as we found other like-minded coaches. We now have 18 Ski Schools across the best ski resorts in France, Switzerland, and Austria.

We've won awards, lots of them. But what makes us most proud is our 11,000 glowing reviews on Feefo, with an average rating of 4.9/5.

Our team speaks many languages. But what unites us is our love for teaching. We make things simple. We make them fun. And we make sure you have the time of your life on the snow.

I was already in my early 30’s when my MBA classmates introduced me to skiing.  First cracking snow plough turn and stop at Hemel, when it was a carpet and not the snow we have today.  The ski bug really got to me and I have managed to ski all over the world including very unusual places like The Lebanon and Australia.  I lived in the US for a while, and really enjoyed skiing the Rockies, but Jackson Hole is very special. I joined the Ski Club after being introduced to it by a work colleague in 2015.  I then enjoyed a couple of Fresh Tracks holidays and then did the last of the old style Leaders Courses in 2018.  Since then I have repped in a variety of resorts and helped out on both social skiing and instruction FT holidays.

I am a lover of all things mountain- Skiing in winter and cycling/hiking in summer. My ‘home’ area is in Morzine/Avoriaz as I have owned a place there for many years.  I love to ski on and off piste and increasingly choose to ski tour when possible. I rode my 8th Etape Du Tour in Morzine last summer and have vowed never to do so again….!! Winter 23/24 will be my first season as a Ski Club Rep and I can’t wait to share the pistes and make new friends all over the Alps and beyond. I look forward to meeting as many members as possible this winter – please track me down in resort!

  • There is a huge range of runs, from long cruising reds and blues, to steep blacks and some fine tree-lined runs – a bit of a rarity in this part of the French Alps.

A lot of investment has gone into the lift system in Les Arcs, with few slow chairs remaining. Keen intermediates upwards should purchase the Paradiski lift pass upgrade to access a further 225km of slopes at neighbouring La Plagne, linked via the double-decker Vanoise Express cable car.

The ideal location for on piste skiers looking to develop and improve their technique, Les Arcs is a hit with Freshtrack guests year after year!

    Pros and cons

    • Varied slopes and access to vast Paradiski area with 425km of pistes
    • Great resort for families and beginners, particularly Arc 1800
    • Some excellent woodland runs – ideal for bad weather days
    • Each resort village is different with plenty of good value accommodation on offer
    • Some of the main runs can get busy, especially in the Arc 2000 bowl
    • Fairly quiet nightlife, but L’Arpette is great
    • Upper slopes where the toughest terrain is may close in bad weather
    • Most accommodation is in self-catered apartments

    Hotel Du Golf

You will be staying at the Hotel du Golf in Arc 1800, a ski-in ski-out hotel located at the foot of the Paradiski slopes. After a long day of skiing, relax on the sun terrace or make use of the spa facilities, including a sauna and whirlpool in the Deep Nature Spa. On a full board accommodation basis, this holiday is really the full package! This holiday is on a single occupancy basis. You will therefore be placed in a room on your own for the duration of the trip. If you would prefer to share a room with someone you know, then please contact the Freshtracks office and we will make the relevant arrangements.

It is a condition of booking that you have valid and adequate snowsports insurance. It is your responsibility to ensure your policy provides cover for all the activities that you participate in during your holiday.

We offer a Ski Club Insurance policy which provides the cover we require for all bookings. This policy can be found here: Ski Club Travel Insurance – Ski Club Of Great Britain

If you decide to purchase insurance elsewhere, it is your responsibility to ensure that your policy provides cover as that of the Ski Club Insurance policy. The policy of insurance should provide cover for personal injury, death, medical and repatriation costs in the countries which you intend to visit, together with cover for loss of baggage and valuables, personal liability, delay, cancellation, curtailment, missed departure and legal expenses. The policy should also include cover against losses caused by the effects or consequences of Covid-19.

Due to the type of holidays that you will be booking with us, we also advise that your policy should include skiing off-piste without a guide. Please note, insurance premiums must be paid at the same time as booking in order for the package holiday or single service cancellation cover to be effective. It is also advised to keep your insurance details with you while you are on your holiday. If you choose to travel without adequate insurance cover, we will not be liable for any losses howsoever arising, in respect of which insurance cover would otherwise have been available.

    • have an ‘expiry date’ at least 3 months after the date you plan to leave the Schengen area

Check your passport meets these requirements before you travel.

NB: Starting in 2025 (Date TBC) travel authorisation will be required to travel withing Europe – find out more here ETIAS (europa.eu)

When venturing off piste, it is compulsory to wear an avalanche transceiver.
