You’ll spend six days social skiing with other members and will be split into groups of 8/9 based on your ski profile. On our social skiing holidays, your Ski Club Rep will ski with the groups as a member sharing their knowledge of the area from the quietest pistes to the tastiest lunch spots. It is essential that guests have the correct ski profile for the holiday they would like to book – please see our ‘View dates & Prices’ tab for specific holiday information.
Lenzerheide is an underrated resort that is now one of the best value resorts in Switzerland. The skiing area is spread over both sides of the valley, which is linked by a 2-way chair lift and has a top elevation of 2800m. On sunny days, we normally headed to Arosa via a dramatic catenary cable-car. This expanded the overall skiing to 225km, offering wide-open slopes with everything above the tree line. Last year the Arosa pistes were the best that I skied in my 6-week season. Few resorts have such variety and length of slopes. There are also plenty of mountain restaurants to enjoy with prices that are reasonable by Swiss standards!

As a lad, I was fortunate to participate in school ski trips to Pertisau and Gotzens in Austria - and thought it was the best thing ever. However, career and mortgage took over and it was some considerable time before I managed to find the opportunity to have another go. Following rediscovery, I have been striving to make up for the 'wilderness' years ever since. I particularly enjoy piste performance skiing and have a soft spot for Austria, Switzerland and Italy.
I started skiing in my early 20's and have managed to ski most years since then, mainly in Europe but occasionally in America or Canada. I enjoy skiing both on and off piste. I joined the Ski Club to take advantage of Freshtracks holidays and to utilise the Resort Repping services. I feel I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to become a Ski Club rep to give something back to the club and take the opportunity to ski, and share the odd drink, with like minded people in resort. Outside skiing I enjoy hill walking and mountain biking.
I was introduced late to skiing but I have doing my best to make up for lost time ever since. Most of my skiing has been done in the Chamonix valley and to call it a spiritual home is only a slight exaggeration. My wife and I spent a winter there a few years ago whilst on a career break and most winters I manage to get out there for a few weeks, while at the same time, trying not to outstay my welcome with generous friends! In the months of the year when I am unable to ski you will usually find me at the tennis club, where my tendency towards mildly obsessive behaviour currently manifests itself.
Hi, I have been a rep for over 22 years and have skied/snowboarded in numerous resorts all over the alps. I have lived and worked in Switzerland at times and so lucky to visit many lesser known ski resorts both in winter and summer. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with you and maybe an adventure or two!
My passion for skiing all started when I was twelve years old on a two week school trip to Davos back in the 70’s - on mini-skis. Being caught in a small avalanche did nothing to deter me and I went on to race in the Royal Navy ski team and take my instructor’s ticket. I met my wife on the slopes of Wengen, but had no idea at that time that I would end up with Swiss nationality, an avid off and on piste skier with over 250 weeks under my many pairs of skis for over five decades, now based in Zürich. Skiing and snowboarding both on- and off-piste has kept me in top condition both physically and spiritually to this day. I bet you are building a similar story, so come ski with me and we can share our passion!
We are ATOL and ABTOT protected so you can book with confidence knowing your money is secure.

To the west lies the main area of local slopes, a network of blues and reds linked by fast lifts, and to the east lies steeper slopes – including the World Cup Downhill run – and crucially the link up and over to Arosa. All of the major lifts in the valley are linked by a regular, free bus service which makes getting around easy. The best way to experience this fantastic resort is with Ski Club Freshtracks this winter, on one of our two Luxury Lenzerheide trips.
The resort is very pretty and has catapulted to fame over the last 6 years as it is the home of Lara Gut-Behrami, the current ladies’ overall world cup champion, and the mountain retreat of Roger Federer. Yet, it is a fairly quiet resort and never feels crowded. There is an excellent circular bus system that delivers or picks up skiers at various access points on the slopes. This stops outside the hotel. The valley and lower slopes have numerous walking tracks and langlauf trails for non-skiers. The main street has various shops and an excellent cafe if you wish to enjoy ‘kaffe/kuchen’ after skiing.

The Sunstar Hotel is located in a peaceful setting, near to the local bus stop that takes you directly to the slopes. You can relax in the indoor pool, sauna and steambath, while after dinner the Chami bar serves great coffees, or something stronger if that takes your fancy! This holiday is on a single occupancy basis. You will therefore be placed in a room on your own for the duration of the trip. If you would prefer to share a room with someone you know, then please contact the Freshtracks office and we will make the relevant arrangements.
The Sunstar Hotel is excellent, and it is possible to glide back to the door from Val Sportz via a short section of the langlauf trail. Rooms have been recently refurbished, and it has a huge ski room with external access to the bus stop. There is a pool and spa for those who wish to relax at the end of skiing. The buffet breakfast, with hot dishes to order, and a 5-course evening meal, will satisfy everyone. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced, although like many Swiss hotels you have to pay for tap water. The Chami bar was the apres-ski location of choice, and the week ended with a live-band party.
